Milestones

Milestones are a set of planned tasks that are created in advance to help your event keep on track.

Milestones are entirely optional to the running of your log, but many users find them extremely useful to aid with the smooth running of an otherwise hectic live event (particularly one that spans across multiple shift patterns over several days).

It's important to remember that a Milestone isn't a task in itself, rather it is a list containing one or more tasks that must be completed by a certain time.

For example, your first milestone might be “Gates Open Checklist”.

Each milestone normally has an overall due date and time - tasks inherit from the milestone, but can also be assigned their own.

In our example, the "Gates Open Checklist" has a due date of 7/7/2025 @ 12:00

There are a number of linked tasks connected to that Milestone:

  • Car parks ready 7/7/2025 @ 10:00
  • Stewards in place for opening 7/7/2025 @ 11:30
  • Security in place at search lanes 7/7/2025@11:30
  • Clearance from Safety Team 7/7/2025 @ 11:45
  • Control all call “standby to open” 7/7/2025 @ 11:50

All log items would have been assigned Categories in the normal way - in the first example above, the category is most likely "parking", "car parks", "traffic management" or you may choose to categorise it by the supplier. It probably should not be categorised as part of "Gates" or "Schedules" as you can already search in the data by the Milestone "Gates Open Checklist"

When switching to live mode, all due tasks will appear in your log and the (optional) reminders will pop up for your main loggist when they become due. See Working with Milestones

Milestones can be edited and deleted once inside the system as long as the event is still in Planning Mode

Once in Live Mode, Milestones can be created from the flyout panel on the right - simply create a new milestone in the box that appears. Once created, new imed logs can be assigned to that Milestone as you create them.
